From Ray & Cyndy Larson

Ray and I are very touched by your words and it means so much to both of us that you did the painting.  With you being from this area and knowing the family, you know how special it is to us and to dad and we can tell the love you put in to painting it.  You captured all that we wanted and more!

The Larson Legacy

It was an honor and privilege to paint this commission piece for Ray & Cyndy Larson. We have visited over the past several years about doing some form of a painting of their farm or something related to the farm. Then Ray & Cyndy emailed me and asked if I had ever painted cows– and this painting came to be! They sent me lots of photographs and we tossed around lots of ideas. It developed into a legacy painting; Alfie observing the life he had built feeding cattle and farming land in and around the area. The shadow represents those family members who are helping and following in his footsteps. The area to Alfie’s left portrays the James River which is a memorable part of the landscape around the Larson farm. One of my goals in painting this was, as Cyndy stated to me, “I know it will only grow more precious to us as the years pass.”

What is a Remarque?

A remarque is a small original drawing or symbol that is done by the artist. I have painted a remarque on a matte or near my signature on a print. I personally use acrylic, colored pencil or pencil but it also can be done in watercolor or pen & ink. The presence of a remarque is most appreciated by serious art collectors because it not only adds value to a print but also because it becomes a one of a kind. Here is an example of a print, entitled Amos, that I remarqued. I thought it would be perfect for the Black Lab lover who hunts ducks. If you would like to know more information on this Limited Edition framed print , please email me or contact me at 307-265-6020. Thank you.Amos

Congratulations goes to a dear friend of mine who signed up for my new newsletter. Nancy Walter is the winner of the 8 X 10 matted and framed mini print of the Purple Finch. Nancy was really excited when I messaged her this morning to say she had won. She mentioned that she never wins anything so was really excited to hear that she had won my picture. She also mentioned that they feed purple finches all the time so that added to her excitement. Thanks to all who entered and your names will be included in the next giveaway. Keep checking my web site for new releases and news. Tell family and friends to sign up for the newsletter coming mid Jan and they can be entered to win the next time. Thank you and Happy New Year.
